An interesting pre-Swan Wash document, Day Room foreshadows much of that band's sound (Anxiety can be seen again in Tavel's Gavel) but also holds its own very well, establishing itself as dark new wave and holding true to this throughout the album. Also, it's quite relaxing music!

Gloomy post-punk with a strong artistic identity. Excellent command of a somewhat minimalist musical approach based on a foundation of stomping drums, full-tone picked J-bass, and shimmering guitar lines. Scott's distinctive and expressive vocals are a highlight.
